Post Empty Pockets Racing Henderson Report
We are back home from the race. We started our trip on Thurs., arriving in Henderson Nv. at 14:30. We found our way around town, and camped in the parking lot of the Fiesta Hotel & Casino. We got up at 05:30 on Friday, and tried to touch up some paint on hte truck, and added some decals from our newest Sponsors. They are HEL-FAB Racing, & Mesquite Dental of Lake Havasu City, Az..
We got over to Water Street and went to start the truck and it would not start. It was in the 30's and the truck just does not like cold weather. It took us almost an hour to get it started. Finally it started, and off we went to the Tech. & contengency line. We had a great time visiting with other race teams, and even got some Live Wire Energy chews from Harley Letner Racing.
We got through Tech. just fine, and off to Jean Nv. we went. We made it to the main pit area, and met up with HEL-FAB Racing 1748, and the Rathers Race team 3747, and they had saved us a nice spot to pit the truck. We got all settled in for the COLD night, and even put a 500watt Hallogen light under the hood of the race truck, to try and keep it warm so it would start.
We got up at 04:30 on Sat. and took care of some final pre race things with the truck. So now it is time to try to start it up at 05:00. So here goes,,,, Crank Crank and it started right up WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO, man I was happy. So around 06:15 the guys headed down to the start line, and at 07:00 they were off and racing.
The day was going well, we were running in 3rd place on lap one, and two. When the guys were coming around the horse shoe turn at the top of main pit the truck made a funny little move like something just broke. Well it did, the left rear axle broke, and the left tire, and wheel came off and the guys gunned the truck, and it looked like it had a broken leg,but they were able to make it to our pit dragging the left side of the truck on the ground. It took us around 50 mins. to repair the truck, and off they went still in 3rd. place. They guys were coming in on the third lap,and were runing out of time. They got back to the main pit area 10 mins late and BITD stopped them, and our day was done. I wished we would have fixed the truck faster, we really needed this finish. Other than that, our trip was great. Really cold, but we had fun. The temps. were in the 20's and 30's. Brrrrr. We would like to Thank everyone for their help this season. Without you, we would not have done as well as we did.

Thank you, Gary Roglin
