 Inauguration Day
Today we are ignaugurating our 44th president. Honestly, I think this whole circus that is being made of it is ridiculous. It's just another president. I'm no more excited about this than any other president. I find it disgusting the gross amounts of money that are being spent by our goverment to hold the "party". They will cut school budgets all day long, then go spend $50 million to change seats in the white house.
I hope he does a great job, and believe Obama has a decent head on his shoulders. I hope the minority hoopla and expectations don't end up being his downfall. At first glance, I think he appears a little more middle of the road than most minorities are making him out to be.
And can someone PLEASE interview someone half way educated at this thing! Every interview clip they play is some ignorant sounding, twitterpated, dipstick that probably has no idea who they voted for! And everyone says rednecks sound dumb ....

 Re: Inauguration Day
Don woke up on the wrong side of the cave. ..LOL. . . I agree about the amount of money being spent. On the other hand. Agree or disagree, like it or not, like him or not. . .History is being made. In this part of the country, it IS just like another President is being sworn in. On the other hand, I lived in the South and saw how things still are to this day. Some people would say that pigs are airborn and doing aerobatics over the capitol mall. I didn't vote for the new president. . .but I feel like I need to be supportive until he gives me a reason not to. I also think that he is moderate AND that his heart is in the right place. I just hope that his ideals are in the right place too. Another very valid point: Right now, a change that modifies public opinion and optimism is good for everyone.

I didn't vote for him. I think he is exactly what we don't need. I hope he proves me wrong.

 Re: Inauguration Day
I guess that did sound a little gruff, huh?
I think it is great to get new ideas in office. I also think he is more moderate than he is being made out to be. I think the exicitement is getting a little blown out of the proportion. The only issue I have with the excitement is, I think there is a lot more being expected than what the liberals are going to get. If he is smart, which I think he is, he won't play favorites and will look out for the good of the COUNTRY. Which is what we all need very bad right now.
I also think the media is making a spectical of things, and intentionally interviewing people who further their agenda. That I don't agree with, but that is media.

 Re: Inauguration Day
Yeah, the one thing that I said to my wife was that quite a number of people are expecting him to wave a magic wand and fix all of their problems. . .the hope is good, but that is a false expectation of any human. The media is perpetuating this type of thing. . .baaaaaad.

 Re: Inauguration Day
I think the last Prez. was a bit to focused on leaving his own legacy, not nearly focused on the good of the people.

 Re: Inauguration Day
I think that the press didn't like him and he didn't give a shit about the press. . .so they killed his popularity.
I will always admire the way he handled 9/11.
