 Good outfit to order/research shocks???
Need to get some shocks for the XJ. Nothing extreme, looking at something entry in the Bilstein or Fox flavor.

The best customer service would be at McKenzies. . .unless of course 4wheelingplus can get them.

Re: Good outfit to order/research shocks???
I kinda like to start local myself. I don't know what Ron's expertise level is with shocks, but he's shown a desire to get into things as they come up. I know the guys on EWOR have always given him high marks, and he wants to work with the guys more here...

Hmmm, just spent a few minutes at McKenzies website and just got agrevated with that. I have a hard time shopping at places with websites that piss me off. 4wheelingplus doesn't appear to deal in Bilsteins of Fox. No offense to them but I prefer to give my money to someone who is familiar with the product ya know.

That is why I am asking instead of just buying from Summit or 4WP who both have them all in stock for great prices. I'm not sure who Ron or EWOR is. Can ya help me hide some of my newbiness on the subject?

Ron 4WheelingPlus.com and EWOR is Eatern Washington off Road. They're a bunch mostly in Yakivegas. We know and have wheeled with several of them. Good guys. Steve got the springs for his Scout from Ron.

Yes, I would definately call Ron and tell him that you are part of our crew.
If Ron can't get the shocks you want, I would call McKenzies. They are revamping their website so it does suck a little right now, but they have been very, very helpful and their prices are great. You could call them, tell them exactly what you are doing and they will give you a great recommendation even if you don't buy from them.

I think I need to do some measuring and such first to see exactly which ones i need.

If you still have the stock mounting methods, they do sell a conversion kit for the 5150s.

I totally agree with you about dealing with someone that "knows" the product. I have yet to research the Bilsteins and Fox shocks at the level that I would feel comfortable making recommendations. I will however be MORE than happy to do just that if you tell me a little more about your application. How much lift do you have? Do you like faster desert/dirt road driving or slow and easy rock climbing trail driving? No catch. I'll do as much research as I can and then get back to you with what I figure out. Also it was mentioned about shock conversions: Even though they aren't on our web site yet we sell the JKS line and they make some decent stuff.
