Post Re: My CJ
Well, the CJ saga continues. I got the new motor hooked up and running sweet, but encountered a small problem. I decided not the reuse my centerforce clutch because the new motor already had a great looking clutch bolted to it. Apparently the centerforce must use a different style throwout bearing or something, because now the clutch won't disengage the flywheel. So, the transmission is coming out and the centerforce back in. Unfortunately the weather has turned cold and it is dark after work so ... the CJ hibernates for the time being.

I should just make this thing a lawn ornament and move on to something else. It would pass as a gnome right?

I can't do it. As much as I love/hate the CJ, I can't send it down the road. Found some old pictures of stuff I had forgot doing .... tube fenders and a gay little stinger, lol ...

How I bought it, 4" Procomp lift, 33" AT's and HORRIBLE steering;

Full Traction Shackle Reverse Kit

Someone loaned me a pipe bender ... bad idea:

Waggy rear axle under .. was pretty excited to throw the new pitbulls on :mrgreen:

Axle swap, stretch and TJ fender flares done:

Tires on and looking pretty good:

So, axle is in, new brake lines, shocks, brake calipers, leaf spring mounts and lots of welding and grinding!

Took her around the neighbor hood tonight! Managed to spook Jobin .... it doesn't quite corner as flat as the Mustang!! Jobin and I did come to the conclusion that for a big burly looking jeep, the nice purring idle just doesn't fit!!

Tomorrow I will work on the front driveshaft, turn it around and give the rear axle a once over and maybe pick up some tube to start goofing around with.

I think a Juniper or Webber shake down is in the very near future.
