We can't start planning for this too soon. The limited details we have are as follows:

The Best in the Desert TSCO "Vegas to Reno" 2009 will be done "The Long Way". What that means is that it is a 3 day stage race that spans the entire state of Nevada. It will be nearly 1000 miles long accross much new racing territory. If I had to guess on dates, it would be August 26-31, 2009.

This race will be the longest desert race held in the US since the Nevada 2000. It will be a logistical nightmare and a GIGANTIC challenge. From this point on, everything leads up to this race. Our prep, our pitting, our education, the other races. It is all preparation for this monster.

What we need from you:
1. MANPOWER. Our current crew could definately handle chasing the race, but it would be a lot better to have more. My thought at the current time would be to have 3 chase trucks AND a prerunner at the race. Chase 1 and Chase 2 are accounted for and we are making plans for the prerunner this spring, but we need Chase 3. Chase 3 would essentially be a leap frog, hiway running, radio relaying, jack of all trades that made sure that the in-truck crew is in constant communications ON the race course. The prerunner will sit on a trailer OR entered in the sportsman class to be used for recovery and/or parts running. If it isn't entered, it will have to be used for recovery in the event that the race truck DNF's a stage so we can get back to the paddock and make repairs.
2. CASH. This is going to be a HUGE undertaking and, while we'll sell body (kidneys, etc.) parts to do it ourselves, we are going to need some cash sponsorship to the tune of about $10,000. So, think about contacts that you KNOW that would be a good candidate for sponsorship. Additionally, everyone will be on their own for food and drinks like they always are. If you like sleeping less than 5 to a hotel room, you might want to consider that as well.
3. FANS. Tell everyone that you know about these CRAZY A-holes from up north that are going down to WIN this most difficult race and tell them how to track it and have them tell all of their friends.
