 Vegas to Reno 2008
Follow along as RGR prepares for the longest continuous Off-Road Race in the United States. V2R covers 560 miles between Pahrump and Dayton, Nevada. There are 15 pits. RGR will cover at least 10 of them with two chase trucks in the 100+ degree August heat. Death Valley is on our left and the Nevada Test Site is on our right. It will be rough, remote, hot and FUN!!!
El Chivo will start getting prepped in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for details of prep, testing and new sponsors!!!

And the story goes that this year the race course has been extended and will now cover over 700 miles...

Nope. . .that's for 2009. Straight from Casey's mouth to your RGR website. He is actually in Reno right now finalizing the new finish section of the course for 2009.
I'm already excited about that one of course.

 Re: Vegas to Reno 2008
If at all in the cards, there could well be a third chase rig. Another Ford be okay? And it can't get lost in the sand. It's too red...

 Re: Vegas to Reno 2008
Think it's standard sand color down there. My F150 is "arrest me red"...

 Re: Vegas to Reno 2008
Yes, Chase 3 would be great. There is one really long road section between pit 12 and pit 14 that a third chase truck could do early to get set up at the Top Gun pit. That way, Chase 2 could head for Pit 15 and Chase 1 could head for the finish. Of course, everyone would make the finish before the race truck so we'd have a quick "nap party" before the celebration begins!!
and Dave.. .who's WE?
We need a roll call.
Who's IN for sure?

"We"? Uh, don't recall mentioning that. But, around here, when I say "we", it's pretty much Susan and me

 Re: Vegas to Reno 2008
Hey guys, I introduced myself in the FANS section. I've been talking /w Jim about this race over on Timbercrawler and I am 100% IN for this race. I'm in Seattle area, and it sounds like I'll be flying to Vegas on the Thursday before and home from Reno on Sunday. I'll be looking here often for any more info or updates I need.
Any advice for a first-timer? Anything I need to bring?
John
