Well. . .everyone knows we got a DNF at the race. To that point, we were in first place. Fozzie had passed everyone in our class within the first 15 minutes of the race and had a significant lead coming through pit one.

Both the crew at pit one and at main pit did everything they could to try and fix the truck and get it back on the course. They spoke with some of the biggest names in off-road. Rob McCachren even made some phone calls on RGR's behalf trying to find a new transmission. It was truly wonderful to see everyone work like heros. For Steve, Don, Jose, and I, making the decision to call the race was one of the toughest things we have done. We did NOT give up, but rather exhausted all possibilities and ran out of time. We needed an entire transmission and the only one we could find wouldn't be available until after time had expired. We tried everything including speaking directly to Ford Motor Company representatives. Every single person that we talked to tried valiantly to help.

Rest assured that plans are already under way that will eliminate this problem and take us to the next level.

To our crew: you are the BEST in this business and you pay your own way. To say that we are thankful for you would be the biggest under statement in the history of the World. You are compitent, experienced, enthusiastic, and FUN. Yes, we did manage to have the time of our lives in true RumbleGoat style. . .but that is another story.
